Travel from Boston to Bangor.
You can transfer from Amtrak to Concord Coach at Boston's South Station. It is a moderate walk from the train platforms to the bus depot.

You should look for a train that arrives in Boston an hour or more before the bus departs. If you will arrive in Boston too late in the day to catch a bus to Bangor, a cost-saving strategy might be to ride Concord Coach to Portland and stay overnight in Portland.

At Boston's South Station, walk from the train platforms to the intercity bus terminal, which is located above the train tracks. The walk to the bus terminal may cause you some trouble if you are transporting heavy luggage. Facing the train platforms, walk to your right and then turn left for the walkway to the bus station.
