PLAN 6: BUS FROM BOSTON
Both Greyhound and Concord Coach offer year-round bus service between Boston South Station and Bangor. See below for travel below between Bangor and Bar Harbor.

The South Station bus terminal in Boston is located over the railroad tracks a moderate walk from the train station. The MBTA Red Line subway offers a stop at South Station.


Bangor to Bar Harbor
There are various strategies for traveling from Bangor to Bar Harbor. Here are some ways to do this, starting with the least expensive:

1. Downeast Transportation departs Bangor for Bar Harbor year-round on Mondays and Fridays only. This bus does not operate on Monday holidays. It departs Greyhound at 1:40 p.m. and Concord Coach at 2:30 p.m. Visit DowneastTrans.org for detailed schedule and fare information.

2. The Bar Harbor-Bangor Shuttle offers up to five trips a day from Bangor to Bar Harbor. Advance reservations are required.

3. Rental cars and taxis are available at the Bangor airport. The local BAT Community Connector transit service links Bangor bus terminals and the airport.
