AMTRAK TO BOSTON

Travel from Boston to Bangor.
You can transfer from Amtrak to Concord Coach at Boston's South Station. It is about a 10 minute walk from the train platforms to the bus depot.

You should look for a train that arrives in Boston an hour or more before the bus departs. If you will arrive in Boston too late in the day to catch a bus to Bangor, a cost-saving strategy might be to ride Concord Coach to Portland and stay overnight in Portland.

At Boston's South Station, walk from the train platforms to the intercity bus terminal, which is located above the train tracks. The walk to the bus terminal may cause you some trouble if you are transporting heavy luggage. After leaving the train and just before entering the station, turn to your left. When you reach the sidewalk, then turn left again and continue for a few hundred yards to the bus station.

Travel from Bangor to Bar Harbor.
Downeast Transportation departs the Bangor bus terminal for Bar Harbor year-round Monday through Friday at 1:30 p.m. This bus does not operate on weekends or on Monday holidays.
